Karen Durand is an Environmental Geoscientist with postgraduate research in the use of stable oxygen and carbon isotope ratios as indicators of average temperature curves for their potential use in palaeoclimate reconstruction and calibration of predictive climate change models. Karen is currently Corporate Sustainability Manager at Incitec Pivot Limited, a global manufacturer of fertilisers for agricultural markets and explosives for the mining industry. IPL’s manufacturing processes are carbon intensive, and Karen’s role includes the management and reporting of global carbon emissions, TCFD reporting and Net Zero strategies.
