With Qualifications in Applied Chemistry and PhD in Extractive Metallurgy, Dr Silvia Black has scientific research, analytical and innovation expertise spanning over 35 years in the fields of mining, food, water, education, racing, forensic and environmental sciences. She has published in reputable international scientific journals and presented scientific papers nationally and internationally.
As Senior Program Manager at Amira Global, Silvia leads strategic and collaborative initiatives by developing and managing a diverse portfolio of global Research and Innovation projects and programs, focusing on long-term sustainability across the mineral industry value chain. Currently Silvia is leading the strategic development of Amira Global’s Sustainability framework that includes a newly developed Lithium Program.
Silvia is a Fellow Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (FAusIMM) and a Fellow Member of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (FRACI).
