Previn Pillay is a mining and metallurgy specialist with over 20 years of global experience spanning South Africa, the Middle East, and Australia. He has led major greenfield and brownfield initiatives across critical minerals, base metals, and complex smelting and refining operations — including project delivery, commissioning, and operational readiness.

Previn is currently the Global Practice Lead – Mining for Yokogawa Australia, where he supports clients in aligning digital technologies with operational strategy. His work focuses on bridging technical depth with business development, enabling mining companies to unlock value through advanced process control, automation, and data-driven decision-making.

He plays a central role in Yokogawa’s global Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Mining, shaping strategic direction and supporting regional execution across multiple markets. Passionate about pragmatic innovation, Previn brings a domain-first perspective to digital transformation — with a sharp focus on solving real problems at the coalface of mining.
