Rodrigo Cortes-Lobos is a Technology Transfer Manager at the Advanced Mining Technology Center (AMTC), where he has been working for over 10 years. He is responsible for managing the technology assets, licensing agreements, intellectual property rights, and industrial R&D links and contracts of the center, as well as training the researchers in technology transfer topics and formulating projects.
He holds a PhD in Public Policy with a major in Science & Technology and a minor in Energy and Environmental Policy from Georgia Institute of Technology. He also has a M.Sc. degree in International Agribusiness from the University of Gottingen-Germany and a B.S in Agriculture Science. His research interests are in innovation, science & technology in emerging fields, such as nanotechnology, as well as energy policy and sustainability for the natural resource industries, mainly mining and energy. He has published multiple articles in prestigious journals and received several scholarships and honors, such as Fulbright and DAAD. He is fluent in English and Spanish. He is Mentor to technology based startup companies in Chile.
