Troy’s career in the mining industry as an electrical engineer is approaching the 25-year mark with experiences in researching technologies for autonomous mining applications, operation and maintenance supervision, project management, and for the last 4 years consulting with the outlook to reduce the mining industries’ carbon footprint. Troy has been involved in projects both studying and executing fleet conversion to battery electric, and studies considering renewable sources to reduce or replace diesel generation for remote mines. Troy is a leader in the recent revision of GMG’s “Recommend Practices for Battery Electric Vehicles in Underground Mining”. Troy is excited to be panelist discussing possible paths to operational net-zero in the mining industry.
