As a Chief Executive Officer of Symboticware, a technology company working within the natural resource industries, Ash focuses on expanding the company’s unique offering, which helps transition some of the least technologically advanced sectors to Industry 4.0.
Ash joined Symboticware in 2020 and successfully orchestrated a business turnaround. He introduced new products, adopted a software-as-a-service business model, explored new markets, and achieved a remarkable 70% growth in shareholder value in the first year. He also invested in new opportunities, such as the orchestration of a partnership with SpaceX and the acquisition of a Silicon Valley-based AI startup, Palifer, and has continued to be an expert in advanced technologies, including machine learning and edge computing. Under Ash's leadership, Symboticware is on a mission to prevent 1 million tonnes of CO2 from getting into the atmosphere from the resource industries.
Before Symboticware, Ash served on the leadership team of Uptake, a Chicago-based AI Unicorn. He helped found the mining business line at Uptake and scaled it across North America, South America, and Australia by leading sales and strategy teams. He also has more than 10 years of experience in the mining industry.
Trained engineer, Ash went on to complete a master's degree at the Stanford Business School. Currently, he gives back to academia by teaching at Stanford University and York University Schulich School of Business in Toronto.
