George Pavlou, an alumnus of Queen’s University Smith School of Business, holds a Master of Management in Artificial Intelligence (MMAI) and an engineering degree from the same university. Additionally, he is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). George has spent the last thirteen years in the mining industry, working as a Mining Engineer & Study Manager for top-tier organizations like Barrick Gold. After noticing significant gaps in how big data is used for business decisions in the industry, George decided to pivot his career into Data Science.
Currently, George is a Data Scientist at Centerra Gold, where he plays a crucial role in leading data-centric and technology-focused initiatives within the company. His expertise in Analytics and Operational Technology has been vital in enhancing Centerra Gold's technological growth. George brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the intersection of data science and technology within the mining industry to the conference, providing invaluable insights and perspectives.
