Yassine Yaakoubi is a Postdoctoral Fellow at COSMO, the Stochastic Mine Planning Lab, at McGill University. He specializes in data-driven optimization for decision making under uncertainty, bridging optimization, learning, and simulation to tackle real-world challenges. His current project, Smart Mineral Value/Supply Chains, funded by the COSMO Consortium and IVADO, aims to develop decision support systems for sustainable mineral value chains. With a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Polytechnique Montréal, his expertise includes ML-augmented and end-to-end optimization learning for mine planning, logistics and transportation to improve efficiency, reduce costs and improve risk management. A member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec, Yassine also holds a dual degree from Polytechnique Montréal and Grenoble Institute of Technology, graduating with highest honors.
