Cedric Laney is leading the Mining Technology & Innovation for Vale’s Global Base Metals.
He has more than 15 years of industrial experience of which the last ten years has been in working with Vale. Joining in 2012 as a mining engineer, he held a number of key leadership positions in both engineering and operation at the Goro project in Vale New Caledonia before moving to Canada in 2019. Since then, Cedric has been leading the innovation roadmap, and engineering support for all Base Metals surface mines before being appointed to lead the Mining Technology & Innovation for Base Metals globally. Cedric is highly passionate about Mining and remains focused on delivering sustainable solutions to Vale and the Industry.
Cedric holds three Master’s degree in Geology and Mining Engineering, in Public Administration as well as in International Affairs Relationship.
