Melanie Jenkins is Senior Manager, Environment at Pan American Silver Corp., where she leads environmental disclosure, including environmental data for external reporting, external verifications, environmental goal-setting, and climate strategy. She has worked directly for mining companies since 2014, entering the industry through mining investment banking before moving into investor relations and later sustainability. That background shapes how she approaches disclosure, she has a clear sense of what the market actually needs to see. At MAG Silver, she initiated and led the company's sustainability disclosure and reporting function, taking it from no formal disclosure to published sustainability reports, work that carried forward into her current role following Pan American's acquisition of MAG Silver. Melanie sits on the PDAC Sustainability Committee. She holds a BSc in Primatology from the University of Calgary and a Master of Resource Management from the University of Akureyri in Iceland.
