Oscar Malpica is the Co-Founder and CEO of Rockburst Technologies, a Vancouver-based industrial deep-tech company developing CoreBurst™, a patented CO₂-based comminution technology designed to transform how minerals are liberated from rock. CoreBurst™ uses pressurized CO₂ and rapid depressurization to fracture rock from within, with the potential to improve mineral liberation and recovery while reducing the energy and carbon intensity of mineral processing. Under Oscar’s leadership, Rockburst has advanced the technology from early research to prototype-scale validation, working with leading mining and materials companies including BHP, Vale, Anglo American, Teck, Nutrien and Lafarge. He is focused on bringing new approaches to mineral processing that can help the mining industry produce more critical minerals from existing resources while supporting its transition toward lower-carbon operations.
