Andrew Petruska is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO, USA. His primary research focus is on the control of complex dynamic systems with an emphasis on magnetic manipulation for medical applications and underground perception and navigation for mining applications. He obtained his PhD in 2014 from the University of Utah and did his postdoctoral studies at ETH Zurich, where he was named a Max Planck ETH Center for Learning Systems fellow. His current research is exploring the integration of augmented reality and radar to provide enhanced situational awareness during disasters as well as neuromorphic cameras to provided enhanced perception through dust during operations.
