Fred Blaine has 13 years’ experience in exploration and mining after receiving a PhD in geochemistry from the University of Waterloo. Beginning his career as a Project Geochemist with Anglo American, he has subsequently worked with the Mineral Deposit Research Unit at the University of British Columbia, before joining ioGlobal/Imdex where he has held multiple roles in consulting, product development and currently product management. Multidisciplinary geoscientific data integration, exploratory data analytics and machine learning have been a consistent passion and he has and continues to apply this to solve problems across the mining lifecycle. His current role at Imdex allows him to be at the forefront in the development and implementation of new technologies, both in instrumentation and application of data analytics and machine learning.
