I am a postdoctoral researcher examining the past and future of the mining sector from a social science perspective. My PhD dissertation was a socio-environmental history of the aluminium industry in Amazonia. I have a broad academic background in History, Latin American Studies and International Affairs, and have several years of professional experience in international cooperation. I have lived and worked in the Netherlands, Switzerland and Brazil, and am fully fluent in six languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese and French, besides my native Dutch.
