Anthony Downs joined Vale in September 2019 and is Vale’s Manager, Integrated Innovation, a key leadership role within Vale’s Business Transformation team. Anthony and his team focus on exploring how to leverage technology to reduce personal and process risk and improve productivity across Vale’s global operations.
Anthony is also a member of SNOLAB* board.
Anthony is well-known in the global mining industry for his broad technical and systems knowledge and track record of delivering innovative, robust, and secure solutions to tough business problems.
Before Vale, Anthony has worked for Hatch as a Principal Consultant in the US and prior to this, Anthony worked for Rio Tinto for 15 years, where he held numerous Operational and Corporate roles in various business units across their US, Canadian and Australian businesses.
