Accomplished consultant with 30+ years’ experience in enterprise-level systems and positioned to assist clients to unlock value in their business process, technology and information assets.
Through the client-side aspect of his career, he has assisted start-ups to develop systems to gain traction and disrupt the market, assisted mid-tier organisations to leverage systems to increase revenue and market share, and assisted large corporations to increase productivity and reduce costs by enabling cross-functional processes. Other experience includes systems standardisation and rationalisation post-M&A activities.
Gained working knowledge of operational technologies providing real-time visualisation and production monitoring, through to the information technology world of Enterprise Resource Planning systems that plan the required resources and assets, and beyond to the Business Intelligence and Analytics environment to monitor business performance and identify opportunities for improvement and reduction of risk.
Holds an MBA specialising in managing strategic information and strategic change, providing the framework to lead many large, complex delivery programmes which have successfully transformed operations.
Has also worked vendor-side for a number of specialist global software providers, and for a global Tier-1 management consulting firm as the business development lead for management consulting, systems integration, application management, and business process outsourcing capabilities.
Concentrates on facilitating strategy and using the process as the driver of tactical information needs, and the operational system functional requirements. Involvement over the years has covered the full suite of options from on-site server-based solutions to hosted, and more recently to cloud-based opportunities, with his key focus to enable the digital revolution.
Embarked on a career in Finance, but has held positions as solution architect, program lead, chief information officer, chief operating officer, as well as numerous independent principal consulting roles, and various global sales roles.
Views business through a strategic lens but has an eye for detail, and has developed strong relationships with customers through his passion for innovation and thought leadership.
Has been instrumental in driving a method to assist mining operators to embrace the digital revolution through cloud enablement and to assemble data science led teams to rapidly design and develop Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning solutions to address operational challenges.
Most recently, Dave has joined idoba - a new technology-driven service offering for the mining industry launched by Perenti Group, that leverages in-house technology and data expertise to add value to their global mining services activities.
The idoba team was formed by combining businesses that Perenti acquired over the last 12 months namely, Sandpit Innovation, ImpRes and Optika. Their collective experience comes from global mining companies, digital product commercialisation, data analytics and sustainability.
