Sas holds a Mechanical Engineering degree (Cum Laude) from the University of Johannesburg and an MBA (Cum Laude) from the University of Cape Town. He has over 25 years’ experience in the mining industry, which includes both open pit and underground operational experience with De Beers, as well as experience in the fields of business improvement, business planning, project management, procurement, technology and data analytics with AngloGold Ashanti and Kumba Iron Ore. Sas holds a Government Certificate of Competency for Mines and Works and is registered as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
